and are you a fan of his comics, his music or both?
I found out about Volataire in 97 or so from a girlfriend who put on the Devils Bris one day. I went out and got my own copy later that week.
Since then I have been on a mission of trying to introduce as many people I can to Voltaire. I even set up a couple of live shows in Saint Louis, MO.

Mon, February 9, 2004 - 12:28 PMYeah, he is really a great, very talented guy, and is super nice to his fans. He makes himself very available to fans, which is cool.
I have his Oh My Goth stuff, but havent tracked down any affordable copies of Chi-Chian yet...

Re: How did you find out about Voltaire?
Mon, February 9, 2004 - 12:30 PMnext step, invite any friends of yours who are also Voltoids. I think you have to have at least 3 members to get the tribe to show up on the list.
I just made Voltaire aware of the tribe as well, so he may pop up.

Re: How did you find out about Voltaire?
Tue, February 10, 2004 - 11:41 PMI was in my local hobby shop trying to find the perfect gift for Jenn (ie, anything involving Johnen Vasquez) and found a copy of Oh My Goth! I bought it, and then found everything else he did... that was in '99 or so. If you want to get technical, I read an interview in Carpe Noctum in '98 about Chi-Chian. But failed in the search for the original creation...
Now I am starting a great Voltaire Army to infiltrate the music world and bring him to the masses. If we happen to overthrow World government in the process *shrugs* then so be it. Miscreants, march on!

Re: How did you find out about Voltaire?
Wed, February 11, 2004 - 6:01 PMAs sad as it sounds, I was in HT one day (back in like 97/98) and "when Your Evil" was on. I LOVED it, but they were sold out. The next day I booked it to Newbury's and snatched up the last copy!

Re: How did you find out about Voltaire?
Wed, February 25, 2004 - 2:07 PMI first saw Voltaire's art about 4-5? years ago (ChiChian and OhMyGoth)when I was working at the local comic shop. I fell in love with the ChiChian statue when it came out-- unfortunately we only recieved one and a coworker promptly broke it (Wow! What's this--oops...sorry, can we glue it?) His music I have yet to hear...

Re: How did you find out about Voltaire?
Wed, February 25, 2004 - 3:20 PMI was at I-Con in 2000, the very first year Volty was there :). He played "Owee" and "When You're Evil" at the Cabaret and, from then on, I've been hooked. I try to make it out to at least a show or two when he's in town. One more month baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
